Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information the Lubbock ISD Athletics Hall of Honor (“we” or “us”) collects through this website, how we use it, and who else may receive it. This site has no user accounts, no online sales, and no newsletter.

Information we collect

We collect two kinds of information: what you choose to send us through our forms, and basic technical information that your browser shares automatically when you visit.

  • Contact form: your name, email address, subject, and message.
  • Nominations form: the nominee’s name or team, the Lubbock ISD school attended, years of competition, sports, and accomplishments, plus your own name and email address.
  • Automatic information: your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you view, and the page that referred you. Google Analytics uses this kind of information to produce visitor statistics.

How we use your information

  • We use contact form messages to read and respond to you.
  • We use nomination details to evaluate the nominee. The Lubbock ISD Hall of Honor Committee reviews each nomination, and we use your email address only to confirm the nomination and follow up if we have questions.
  • We use analytics to understand how the site is used and to improve it.
  • We use reCAPTCHA to keep spam and automated abuse out of our forms.

Submitting a form does not add you to a newsletter or mailing list.

Who receives your information

We do not sell your personal information. Form submissions are emailed to Hall of Honor staff. The services below also receive limited information when you use the site.

  • Google Analytics, added to this site through Google’s Site Kit plugin, measures how visitors use the site.
  • Google reCAPTCHA v3 runs on pages with a form to tell people from automated bots. It checks information from your browser and how it interacts with the page, and sends that to Google. Its use is subject to the Google Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
  • Google Fonts supplies the typefaces used on this site, so your browser requests them from Google’s servers.
  • Cloudflare Stream (through review.owengrp.com) and, in some cases, Vimeo serve the videos embedded on some pages. When a video loads or plays, the provider receives information such as your IP address and browser details. See the Cloudflare and Vimeo privacy policies.

Cookies

Cookies are small files that a website stores in your browser. This site does not set cookies for sign-in or shopping, because it has neither. Some of the services above may set cookies or use similar technologies:

  • Google Analytics uses cookies to recognize a browser from one page view or visit to the next.
  • Google reCAPTCHA may use cookies as part of detecting automated traffic.
  • The Cloudflare Stream and Vimeo players may set cookies when a video loads or plays.

Most browsers let you review, block, or delete cookies in their settings. To opt out of Google Analytics, you can install Google’s browser add-on.

How long we keep information

We keep what you send us only as long as it is needed for the purpose you sent it, such as answering a message or considering a nomination. The Nominations page explains that a nominee stays on the ballot until chosen, so a nomination may be kept for that whole time.

Form submissions are delivered by email, and a copy is also saved in the website’s password-protected administration area so a submission is not lost if an email fails. Only Hall of Honor site administrators can see these copies. Google and the video providers keep their own data under their own settings and policies.

Children

This website is for the general public. Our forms are not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has sent us personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.

Links to other websites

Some pages link to sites we do not run, such as photo folders hosted on Dropbox and the website of The Owen Group, which produced this site. This policy does not cover those sites, and their privacy practices may differ.

Changes to this policy

If we change how this website handles information, we will update this page and the “Last updated” date at the top.
