Larry Isaac
Class of 2013
Larry Isaac | 1968 - 19973 | Estacado High School | Football, Baseball, Track, Basketball
Larry Isaac was an athlete at Estacado High School from 1968 to 1973, playing football, basketball, baseball and ran track. He is most notable for playing football there.
During his junior year as a running back on the team, Isaac was named an All-City, All-District, All-South Plains, All-Region, and All-state player, as well as City Player of the Year, High School MVP, All Friday Night Team and leading rusher in the area.
For his senior year, he was named All-City, All-District, All-South Plains, All-Region, Honorable Mention All-State player and Player of the Week. During his senior year, Isaac rushed for 1,327 yards. In basketball he was named a 3A All-South Plains, 3A All-Region and 3A All-District Player. He continued his football career at Texas Tech where he played from 1973 to 1976. His accolades while playing at Tech include being named All-Southwest Conference Running Back, Southwest Conference Newcomer of the Year as a freshman and Offensive MVP in the 1974 Peach Bowl.
At the end of his college career Isaac had rushed for 2,687 yards on 551 carries – making him Tech’s all time leading rusher. Isaac went on to have a brief professional career with the Saskatchewan franchise in the Canadian Football League and the Oakland Raiders. Back to class of 2013
