Diana Kersey | 1987–1990 | Monterey High School | Girl's Basketball
Kersey is ranked in the Top 10 in points and rebounds in both season and career for the Lady Plainsmen. She also ranked as one of the assists leaders for a season with 119 in her senior year.
Kersey was All-City each of three of her years at Monterey. Following her junior and senior years, she was named the All-City, All-District, and All-South Plains MVP.
Diana was 2nd Team All-State her junior year and after her senior year, she was named All-State 1st Team and to the All-State Tournament Team.
Her Monterey teams were 24-8 (Area Champions), 26-6 (Area Champions), and 32-2 (State Semifinalist). The State Semifinalist Team still has the best record in Monterey Lady Plainsmen Basketball history. And they won a Lady Plainsmen record 28 games in a row. During Diana’s career at Monterey, the Lady Plainsmen won 82 games and only lost 16.
Kersey’s high school career earned her a scholarship to play for the Texas Tech Lady Raiders.
