Janice Farris Legan | 1988–1990 | Monterey High School | Girl's Basketball

A two-year starter for the Monterey Lady Plainsmen, Janice Farris Legan was highly decorated during her high school career.

She was All City both years and during her junior year, she was also 1st Team All-District, All South Plains, and 2nd Team All Region. Following her senior year, Janice was selected to the 1st Team All-District, All South Plains, 1st Team All-Region, and All-State 3rd Team.

She is still in the Top 10 for Lady Plainsmen Basketball for points in a season with 651 and in the Top 20 for points and rebounds in a career.

Her team, in her junior year, won the Area Championship and finished with a 26-6 record. During her senior year, she helped lead the lady Plainsmen all the way to the State Tournament. That team finished 32-2 and still holds the Monterey Lady Plainsmen record for most wins and the longest winning streak at 28.

Janice continued her basketball career by earning a scholarship to play for the Texas Tech Lady Raiders.
